"Her & Him" is about two lonely people who begin a sexual relationship during the COVID-19 lockdown, in order to avoid facing the complications of their respective lives. It's a film about the perils of situationships and love and loss, as well as the collective isolation felt during the COVID-19 lockdown. The titular characters both come with a lot of emotional baggage and unresolved traumas to the heart, which complicates their constantly changing relationship. The film is the kind of character driven and "run-and-gun" filmmaking that was very common in the 1970s and 90s, but isn't seen very often in recent cinema, making for a refreshing throwback to purely character driven stories.
